Oliver Maner’s Patrick T. O’Connor Inducted as President of the State Bar of Georgia

Oliver Maner LLP, is pleased to announce that Patrick T. O’Connor has been installed as President of the 48,000 member  State Bar of Georgia. O’Connor was sworn in at the State Bar of Georgia’s Annual meeting on Saturday, June 18, 2016. O’Connor is the first Savannah lawyer to hold the post since Frank “Sonny” Seiler in 1973.

O’Connor was sworn in as Treasurer of the State Bar in June, 2015 and served as President-Elect and Treasurer of the State Bar of Georgia from October 2015 until his installation as President on June 18, 2016.

O’Connor has served as a member of the State Bar’s Board of Governors and Executive Committee and, as its Secretary. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, is a past president of the Savannah Bar Association and its Young Lawyers Section and has served as chairman of the U. S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia Advisory Committee. He is also a member of the Georgia Judicial Nominating Commission and serves on the board of the Georgia Institution for Continuing Legal Education. In 2009, O’Connor’s work was recognized by the Savannah Bar Association with the Frank Cheatham Professionalism Award.
