SouthCoast Health Welcomes Dr. Caroline Freeman

SouthCoast Health continues to grow and expand its services with the addition of Dr. Caroline Kaufman Freeman, an optometrist who is a graduate of the University of Georgia, to its team of physicians.

Dr. Freeman will see patients at 1326 Eisenhower Drive, Building One, in Savannah and at 455 South Main Street, Suite 201, in Hinesville.

A native of Plano, Texas, Dr. Freeman received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry. She served as a student extern at the Mann Eye Institute in Houston and at the Cedar Springs Eye Clinic in Dallas during medical school. She majored in biology as an undergraduate at the University of Georgia and is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honors Society.

She comes to SouthCoast Health from Vision Source Boutique, an eye clinic in Houston.

“We are excited to add another talented young physician to our eye care group,” SouthCoast Health Administrator John Marrero said. “SouthCoast Health is committed to offering our patients a diverse group of services and adding to our eye care group will help contribute to our patients’ total wellness.”

Dr. Freeman, who comes from a family of healthcare providers, joins Dr. Stephanie Croll and Dr. Edward D. Sammons in SouthCoast Health’s eye care practice, which has three locations: Savannah, Hinesville and Bluffton, S.C. SouthCoast Health offers primary eye care, comprehensive eye exams for glasses and contacts, a full-service optical shop, cataract surgery, diabetic eye exams, diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, dry eye management and specializes in multifocal and gas-permeable contacts for corneal dystrophies.
