Thomas & Hutton Announces New Hires in Savannah

Thomas & Hutton is pleased to announce the following new hires in its Savannah office. 

Christina Richard joined Thomas & Hutton’s Environmental Engineering team as a Designer I. Christina recently graduated from Auburn University where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Biosystems Engineering. Her studies culminated in designing a sustainability expansion project on a non-profit horse farm, including the design of a drip irrigation system for a 70’x70’ garden, the updating of a dust suppression irrigation system for two horse arenas, and the design of rainwater harvesting systems for each irrigation system.

Richard McCoy joined Thomas & Hutton’s Quality Control/Quality Assurance team as a Field Representative I. He will assist with the quality control on a variety of projects.  Richie worked for the Georgia Department of Transportation for 17 years. He supervised and managed multi-million dollar projects while handling diverse responsibilities including building and construction, generating extensive estimates, managing financial resources, and communications with many people, ranging from construction site workers to company CEOs.

Greg Knight joined Thomas & Hutton’s Transportation Engineering team as a Senior Roadway Inspector. He will be providing project inspection for the Georgia Department of Transportation on the Windsor Spring Road widening project in Augusta, Georgia. He has over 12 years of experience in roadway construction with the Georgia Department of Transportation and E.R. Snell Contractor, Inc.

Sam Newsome joined Thomas & Hutton’s Civil Engineering team as a Designer I. Sam will be working as a designer with the team on mostly industrial and economic development projects. Sam earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master’s of Science in Applied Engineering from Georgia Southern University. Prior to his employment with Thomas & Hutton, Sam worked as a heavy machinery maintenance technician.

Kieu Tran joined Thomas & Hutton’s Civil Engineering team as a CADD Technician II. Kieu attended Armstrong University Savannah Technical College with a degree in drafting, having learned programs including AutoCad, Inventor, and Catia. Prior to coming to Thomas & Hutton, she worked for Sebring Engineering, Inc. as a designer and assistant to the project manager. Kieu has four years of experience with CADD as well as COMCheck and Visual.

Revis Hendley joined Thomas & Hutton’s Transportation Engineering team as a Roadway Inspector. Revis has past experience as a Senior Engineering Technician with 19 years of experience of construction inspection experience in Florida and Georgia.  Prior to pursuing road and bridge construction inspection, he was self-employed as a General Contractor in Florida.  He has extensive experience in inspection, testing, use of construction materials including soils, Portland cement concrete, and aspartic concrete. His experience also includes interstate highway and bridge experience.

Nerine Watts joined Thomas & Hutton’s Survey Department as a Survey Technician. She spent six years as an Executive Assistant for Sysco Food Service of Alaska. When Nerine came back to Georgia, she pursued a degree in design. In 2015, she graduated from ITT Tech with an Associate's Degree in Drafting & Design. Nerine interned with Carter & Clark, and upon graduation, she accepted a position with them as a CADD Tech.
