Georgia Restaurant Association CEO Karen Bremer, representing one of the largest industries in the state, will highlight local restaurants’ economic and social impact at the Savannah Downtown Business Association breakfast Wednesday, August 10, 8:30AM at the Soho South Café, 12 West Liberty Street. The GRA serves as the unified voice for more than17,000 food service and drinking places in Georgia that provide approximately 439,000 jobs with total sales exceeding $18 billion. Bremer was a founding member of the GRA and past president of the organization’s board. She has worked more than 35 years in the hospitality industry and her previous experience includes being the former owner of Dailey’s and City Grill restaurants and as a top executive with the Peasant Restaurant Group, starting out as a manager and ultimately being named its president.

Named as one of Georgia Trend Magazine’s “100 Most Influential Georgians of the Year” for 2016, Bremer serves on the board of directors for the National Restaurant Association, Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau, the DeKalb Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Council of State Restaurant Associations. She also sits on the Industry Advisory Board of Georgia State University's Cecil B. Day School of Hospitality Administration and is a trustee of the Arby’s Foundation. A member of Les Dames d'Escoffier International and the International Women's Forum, she was inducted in the ACVB Hospitality Hall of Fame in 2015. Other awards include the ACVB Member of the Year Award in 2002 for her role in founding Downtown Atlanta Restaurant Week and in 2009 she received the GRA’s Crystal of Excellence Lifetime Achievement Award for her outstanding contributions to Georgia's restaurant industry.
