Port Logistics Group, the nation's leading provider of gateway logistics services, announced that it has opened a brand new 315,000 square foot facility to expand its presence in the Savannah gateway. The new facility at 47 Sonny Perdue Drive within the CenterPoint Intermodal Center will provide multi-client logistics space for existing PLG customers and capacity for growth in this quickly expanding market.

The facility is located on 26 acres and offers direct access to the Georgia Port Authority, the NS Dillard Yard and direct rail service from Norfolk Southern. With113 trailer parking positions and 50 exterior dock doors, the facility is designed to support both cross-dock and traditional retail warehousing and fulfillment operations.

"The Savannah Gateway is a great expansion of our existing operations for clients who want quick and efficient access to customers in the Southeast," said Lou Riccitelli, VP of East Coast Operations for PLG. "We seeded the team here with experienced retail operators to complement our local leadership and workforce. Customers who choose Savannah as a port of entry will benefit from the very efficient local port operations and an expert team that understands the demands of retail fulfillment."

"This expansion marks an important element in strengthening our four-corner strategy," said Greg Morello, Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer at Port Logistics Group. "We've experienced significant demand for high-quality omnichannel solutions in the Savannah market and this location offers another option for new and existing clients to reach their customers faster. Today, PLG can offer consistent, high-quality service – on the same information system platform and using the same processes – at each of the four major gateway ports, representing nearly 80% of the import volume to United States."
