Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Friday, July 15th, 2016

The Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus is pleased to welcome Katie Davis, who will serve as their Development Associate.

As a valued team member, Davis will handle various administrative tasks, including donor coordination and communications, mailings, and database management. Additionally, Davis will assist with special events and marketing initiatives. She’ll ensure brand standards and strategies are consistently maintained and applied through all communication platforms.

The Savannah Philharmonic, which kicks off its 2016-17 season on Sept. 10, made its choral debut in October 2008, followed by the Philharmonic Orchestra in January 2009. It is under the leadership of Artistic Director and Conductor Peter Shannon and Chorusmaster Dr. Monica Harper.

“We’re thrilled to have Katie’s vast experience and enthusiasm for the arts. With the surge in popularity and growth the organization has accomplished, it’s more essential than ever to have knowledgeable and capable hands on board,” O’Neil said.

Before joining the Philharmonic, Davis worked in business development and as staffing director for Ford Douglas Recruiting.  She moved to Savannah in July of 2014 and took a position with Mercer University School of Medicine as the Clerkship Coordinator, working with the 3rd & 4th year medical students.  She also led the American Lung Association of Georgia as the East Central Region director.

Davis earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Maryland and a Master of Science in Community Services from Michigan State University.
