Learn to manage stress and achieve a healthy balance between work and personal life at “Vibrant Well-Being: A Workshop for Mindfulness, Stress Reduction, and Work-Life Balance.” Jacqueline Huntly, M.D., MPH, will lead the workshop on Saturday, August 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mercer University School of Medicine’s Savannah campus, 1250 East 66th Street (adjacent to the campus of Memorial University Medical Center).

Mindfulness is the practice of intentionally bringing your attention into the present moment in a caring, nonjudgmental way. The workshop will introduce participants to breath awareness, sitting and walking meditation, and mindful body awareness and relaxation. They will also learn how to take a mindful approach to mindset, stress reduction, nutrition, and sleep habits.

“The practice of mindfulness can reduce stress, build positive emotions and bring compassion into our lives,” said Huntly, who is a fellow of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine, a leading proponent of mindfulness as a way to heal the body, mind, and spirit. She directs the lifestyle and integrative medicine curriculum for the family medicine residency program at Memorial University Medical Center.

Presented by Memorial Health University Physicians’ Family Medicine Center, the workshop is open to the public. Registration is $50 per person and includes printed materials, a journal, and light refreshments. Register online at memorialhealth.com/familymedicine.
