New Board Leadership Help Kick off Urban Hope’s After School Program

Urban Hope concluded its 8 week, free summer program, Camp Urban Hope on July 29th and began its free after school program on August 15th. The organization will serve 55 children in grades 1st through 8th, as well as 10 high school student leaders.

The program will begin under new Board leadership and six new board members.

Nicholas Lee will assume the role of Board President and Doug Carroll will serve as the Vice-President. Mr. Lee works for JCB in Business Development and Mr. Carroll is Director of Real Estate at enmarket. Both Mr. Lee and Mr. Carroll have been members of the Urban Hope Board for over a year playing critical roles in the growth of the program’s fundraising and community presence.

The Urban Hope Board welcomes the following new Board members:

Bill Rousseau: Former Deputy Director and Executive Director of the Telfair Museum of Art. Rousseau is a Graduate of Cambridge University and was the Director of Technology at United Technologies, Corp. 

Jennifer Oetgen: Principal and Vice President, Hussey Gay Bell. Ms. Oetgen currently serves as Hussey Gay Bell's Director of Water & Wastewater. 

T. Orlando Pearson, Esq.: Oliver Maner, LLP. Orlando Pearson is an Associate in the Litigation Section of Oliver Maner LLP. Primarily, Orlando's practice concentrates on business litigation, civil rights litigation, financial services litigation, domestic and family relations, as well as criminal law.

Ashley Tillman: USI Insurance Services. Mrs. Tillman is an Account Executive for USI Insurance Services in the Savannah Office. She has over 11 years of experience in Employee Benefits, managing employer benefit programs.

Shane Murray, CPA: Hancock Askew. Shane is a CPA with over 2 years of experience in public accounting. His areas of expertise include Employee Benefit Plan Audits, Financial Statement Audits, and Internal Audits. He has served privately held companies across various industries.

Alfred D. McGuire, Jr.: Principal, Woodville Tompkins Technical and Career High School. Mr. McGuire is an innovative educator with over 10 years of experience assisting students, parents, faculty and staff to exceed educational goals and objectives.

These new Board Members will join our passionate and dedicated team: Nicholas Lee, Doug Carroll, Cassie Beckwith, Mark Thomas, Bryan Robinson, Julius Haynes, Louise Connell, Heather Lundy, Crista Waggoner and Travis Thomas.
