Terri O’Neil, director of development for the Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus, was recently invited to serve two community organizations.

On July 25, O’Neil was inducted as a member of the Rotary Club of Savannah. This club is the city’s largest Rotary Club and was established over 100 years ago. Rotary Club of Savannah is an affiliate of Rotary International, a worldwide service organization that brings together business and professional leaders and encourages them to become involved in their communities through humanitarian services. Members observe high ethical standards and work to advance goodwill and peace around the globe.

O’Neil was also recently elected to the Savannah Classical Academy Board of Directors, where she will serve the school alongside other distinguished community leaders and dedicated residents. The Savannah Classical Academy opened in fall of 2013 and their mission is to provide every child with a classical and academically rigorous education while instilling a commitment to civic virtue and moral character.

“The energy and commitment from the SCA family is contagious. Bearing witness to their accomplishments since 2013 is astonishing and to learn of their plans for growth is impressive. I am humbly eager to contribute to their future successes.”

O’Neil and three other new board members – Dr. Jacobium Holliman, Dr. Donna Isaac and Andy Blair – join the following existing board members: Chairman Ormonde Lewis, Vice Chairman John Picker, Secretary Falen O. Cox, Treasurer John Swanner, Barbara Cortese, Martha Nesbit and Dr. Gwen Smith.

 “I’m honored to represent two upstanding institutions within the Savannah community,” O’Neil said. “Rotary is a service organization which encourages service above self and is represented by many civic leaders who have contributed to the growth and success of our city throughout generations.”

In February 2016, O’Neil joined the Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra, and immediately began strengthening and developing donor relations, cultivating long-range fundraising strategies. She previously served as director of development for the Historic Savannah Foundation and has been active in the community for over 30 years.
