Savannah VOICE Festival Season Nears End

Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Thursday, August 18th, 2016

Coastal Empire music fans are invited to travel around the globe with the Savannah VOICE Festival’s acclaimed artists when they present the VOICES Around the World concert at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18 at Christ Church, 28 Bull St., in Savannah.

SVF Executive Director Maria Zouves believes that the show’s international focus will allow the artists to showcase their versatility and range while treating audiences to a range of talent from different continents and traditions.  “The festival is thrilled to present VOICES Around the World, which will celebrate various cultures as artists share their favorite international songs – many in romance languages, which will tie in beautifully with our theme, ‘Summer of Romance.’ It’s the perfect lead-up to the festival’s stunning finale,” Zouves said.

The Savannah VOICE Festival’s 2016 season will wrap with a dramatic and unforgettable crescendo of voices and music at the Charles H. Morris Center, 10 E. Broad Street, at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21. The Festival Finale: A Summer of Romance will feature opera and musical theatre, among other genres, as the artists pay homage to the most romantic and dramatic moments of song.

Tickets for Voices Around the World cost $45 each, and Festival Finale tickets cost $55 each. Tickets are available at the door or online and students and military can enjoy a discounted rate of $15 at the door with valid ID.
