South University, Savannah Doctor of Pharmacy student Samantha Powell has been named a 2016 Kappa Psi Foundation scholarship winner. Powell is one of only ten students from across the United States chosen for the scholarship.

Each year, the Kappa Psi Foundation honors select students based on grade point average, professional involvement and community service, leadership, honors and awards, career goals and interests, student narrative, and their letters of recommendation.

In addition to being enrolled in South University's rigorous dual Doctor of Pharmacy/Masters in Business Administration program, Powell is recognized as a leader in the classroom and community. Her academic performance has earned her spots on both the President's List and Dean's list, and she has served as the American Pharmacist Association's Academy of Student Pharmacist Generation Rx Chairperson and as Kappa Psi Delta Omega Chapter's Interfraternal Chairperson, Scholarship Chairperson, and Pledgemaster. She is also a member of Phi Lambda Sigma and The Rho Chi Society.
