At the City Council meeting, Jenny Gentry, Market President of Wells Fargo Bank, presented a $4,000 check to the Mayor and Aldermen and Community Housing Services Agency, Inc. for deposit into the Savannah Affordable Housing Fund. Wells Fargo previously contributed $10,000 to the SAHF. During the past four years Wells Fargo has also contributed $95,000 to CHSA Development to help fund the construction of new houses sold to first time home buyers and its employees have volunteered to help build eight houses.

Wells Fargo’s investment in the SAHF this year will be used to help offset down payments and closing costs incurred by modest income home buyers purchasing their first home in Savannah. CHSA, a non-profit housing organization established in 1989 by the City, together with the City’s Housing Department provide SAHF administrative oversight.
