Thirty-four teams and countless community volunteers gathered Friday, Sept. 9 for the Two Hundred Club of the Coastal Empire’s annual Community Heroes Golf Tournament which was hosted by the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort and Spa. Participants enjoyed breakfast before the opening ceremony, which included a helicopter performing impressive aerial maneuvers and a bagpiper. Two Hundred Club President Mark Dana thanked the assembled crowd and reiterated the importance of the nonprofit organization’s work under a sunny and relatively cool morning sky. The golf tournament raised $25,000 in proceeds, which will directly support the mission of the Two Hundred Club.

The Two Hundred Club is a 501(c) (3) organization “care for those who care for us” by providing financial assistance to the families of fallen heroes. All proceeds from this event will go directly toward supporting the families of local law enforcement officers, EMS, and firefighters who lost their lives in the line-of-duty protecting their community.

With thirty-four teams participating, competition was intense but Team Coca-Cola and Team Morgan Stanley emerged as the victors of the tournament.

Mark Dana, Two Hundred Club President, said, “The golf tournament is a fun, exciting way to get the community involved in our organization and mission. The Two Hundred Club is extremely grateful to the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort and Spa for hosting this event and for the support of our volunteers, sponsors, and donors who made this year’s Community Heroes Golf Tournament such a success.”
