The College of Education at Armstrong State University recently received two national rankings. Following evaluation of thousands of other programs, GradSource.com named Armstrong 7th in the nation for Best Online Master’s Program in Education. Teacher.org reviewed 425 colleges and ranked Armstrong’s Early Childhood Education degree program the 17th best in the country.

“We are honored to receive national recognition for our online master’s and Early Childhood Education degree programs,” says Dr. Janet Buckenmeyer, dean of the College of Education. “Armstrong has a long history of preparing teachers for success in the classroom.”

GradSource.com based rankings on affordability, flexibility, program prominence and student success. The Teacher.org Best Colleges list was compiled by scoring several areas including relative size of the program, graduation rates, default rates, tuition affordability and online education options.

Armstrong’s College of Education offers BSEd programs in Early Childhood Education, Secondary Education, Special Education and Health and Physical Education, as well as M.Ed. programs in Early Childhood Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Reading Specialist Education, Adult Education and Special Education. Armstrong also offers M.A.T. degree programs with initial certification in Early Childhood Education, Special Education and Secondary Education.

Earlier this year, the university’s College of Education was ranked #53 on U.S. News and World Report’s Best Online Graduate Education Programs.
