Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Friday, September 2nd, 2016

Coastal Heritage Society invites the public to attend the 2016 Savannah Children’s Museum Benefit Concert, an evening of fun and musical entertainment featuring The Accomplices and Bottles & Cans. The event will take place on Friday, September 30th at 7 pm at Georgia State Railroad Museum, 655 Louisville Rd., Savannah, GA 31401. Doors open at 6pm.

Bottles & Cans, a blues band with musical influences including American folk, country and rock will open the event and The Accomplices, a Savannah based acoustic folk-rock band known for their modern take on folk melodies and genre-blending sound, will headline the show.

“We are thrilled to have a charity event that so closely reflects the fun young visitors experience at Savannah Children's Museum, but created for adults,” said Shannon Marquette, Education Specialist at Coastal Heritage Society. “With the help of The Accomplices and Bottles & Cans, we aim to raise funds for annual museum operations at this year's event. Specifically, the funds will help with the expansion of our new programs that focus on STEAM-based learning, environmental education, health and wellness, and literacy.”

In addition to these two performances, the Frankie & Flynn food truck will be on-site with many delicious sandwich options and the The Dark Shark-Taco Attack! food truck will bring an assortment of tacos for event attendees. A cash bar will be available serving refreshments, including beer and wine.

Tickets to the concert are $15.00 per person through pre-registration at bit.ly/SCMConcert and $20.00 at the door. Coastal Heritage Society members will receive express check-in and a special VIP cash bar during the event. Generous support for this event has been provided by Friends of Tania Smith-Jones, Coastal Heritage Society Board of Trustees and our corporate sponsors.
