The Lodge on Little St. Simons Island received three notable acknowledgements in the 2016 Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards including: No. 1 Top Resorts in The American South: Readers Choice Awards 2016; No. 5 of the Top 10 Best Resorts in the U.S.; and No. 49 of the Top 50 Best Resorts in the World.

According to Condé Nast Traveler, "more than 300,000 travelers took part in the 29th annual Readers' Choice Awards survey—yet another new record." They went on to say that, "most notably, they declared a passion for the authentic, the personalized, the unexpected," all of which The Lodge on Little St. Simons Island offers its guests.

"It is a distinct honor to be one of the top properties in the world as recognized by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler," said Scott Greene, General Manager of The Lodge at Little St. Simons Island. "While there are numerous awards given in our industry, there is something extremely special about being recognized by the readers—our guests—of the premier travel publication. These awards are a reflection of our exceptional staff who provide guests with an extraordinary experience, one that makes Little St. Simons Island a remarkable and memorable destination."

Accessible only by boat, Little St. Simons Island is a privately owned barrier island on the Georgia coast. Accommodations on the 11,000-acre island are in The Lodge's unique guest cottages limited to 32 overnight guests. The all-inclusive resort offers the rare opportunity to enjoy expert-led nature excursions and outdoor recreation, set against a wilderness backdrop that has remained nearly unchanged for more than a century.

"We encourage guests to explore the island's trails, creeks and seven miles of unspoiled beach and take advantage of the extraordinary opportunity to observe wildlife and enjoy nature," continued Greene. "Our guided excursions, charming accommodations, and delicious farm-to-table meals complimented by Southern hospitality are the essence of a visit to Little St. Simons Island and what sets us apart from other destinations."
