Park Place Outreach Youth Emergency Shelter Receives $1,000 Grant as part of Wells Fargo’s Day of Giving

Park Place Outreach Youth Emergency Shelter is the recipient of a $1,000 grant from Wells Fargo. Park Place Outreach is open 24 hours a day as a safe place for runaway or abused youth. This grant will go towards operational and program expenses to keep these youth safe.

This is the only shelter of its kind in the city of Savannah and Chatham County. Park Place Outreach encourages youth between the ages of 11 and 17 to come if they are not safe in their own home or do not have any place to go. Meals are provided to youth as well as transportation to and from school. When returning home family counseling is offered as well as after school tutorial and a drop-in center.

“Every dollar we get towards this organization is a way to help keep a child safe,” said Park Place Outreach Executive Director Linda Hilts. “We thank Wells Fargo for this grant award and helping the youth in Savannah.”
