Friday, October 14th, 2016

In light of Hurricane Matthew, Cecilia Russo and Brynn Grant, Big Wigs for the Susan G. Komen of Coastal Georgia Foundation, have postponed the “Let’s Tackle Breast Cancer" Football Fundraiser to be held Sunday, October 23.

Russo, president of Cecilia Russo Marketing, and Grant, the vice president of World Trade Center Savannah and Chief Operations Officer of SEDA, aim to raise awareness and much-needed funds for the Komen Foundation.

On Sunday, October 23, our pink-wigged ladies will be at Coach’s Corner, 2016 East Victory Drive, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. during the NFL games. This event is free and open to the public; suggested donations are at your discretion.

Russo said, “As many of our family, friends and neighbors were affected by the storm, we have decided to donate a portion of our cash proceeds to hurricane relief efforts.”

Participants will have the opportunity to enter for raffle prizes. Prizes include a one-week stay at a cabin in Maggie Valley, NC (sleeps 12-15 people) donated by John Davis Florist; a flat screen TV donated by Port City Powerwash; an NFL Jersey from Coach’s Corner; as well as other cash prizes. All prizes will be awarded at Coach’s Corner on Sunday afternoon.

Russo and Grant are participants of the 2016 BigWig competition hosted by the Susan G. Komen Foundation. They along with 8 other community leaders have pledged to raise donations to help fund research and programs to find a cure for breast cancer.

“We are honored to participate in the 2016 BIGWIG competition in an effort to help put an end to this terrible disease,” said Grant. “I am beyond thankful to those who have supported this endeavor thus far and hope this event will aid in surpassing my personal fundraising goal.”
