Savannah is Back on Its Feet and Welcoming Fall Visitors

Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Monday, October 17th, 2016

After a brush with Hurricane Matthew, Savannah is open for business and welcoming visitors from far and wide.

Although some of the city’s signature moss-draped oaks were damaged or overturned and power loss was widespread over the weekend, Savannah’s downtown businesses were back on the power grid and open for business by mid-week. As of Friday, attractions and tours are operational and looking forward to treating visitors to Savannah’s unique flavor of Lowcountry hospitality. With weather forecasts calling for sunny days to come and temperatures in the high 70s, the community is working hard to ensure that Savannah shines brighter than ever.
