Armstrong State University to Celebrate Symposium on India Nov. 2th-4th

Armstrong State University will celebrate the Symposium on India from Wednesday, Nov. 2 through Friday, Nov. 4, in conjunction with Armstrong’s International Education, International Student Organization and the Criminal Justice, Social & Political Science Departments. The Honorable Consul General of India Nagesh Singh will be a guest lecturer for three events.

All events will take place at Armstrong’s main campus at 11935 Abercorn St., and are free and open to the public.

The 2016 Symposium on India schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, Nov. 2: 12-1 p.m.

International Café—India

Ashmore Hall 119

International students share traditions from their home country with food, dances and stories.

Wednesday, Nov. 2: 6-8 p.m.

Court Film Screening

Solms Hall 108

A compelling look at India’s institutional justice system, Court tells the story of a folk singer undergoing investigation after a man commits suicide supposedly due to the singer’s song.

Thursday, Nov. 3: 7-8 p.m.

Consul General Lecture: “Enhancing Indo-American Relations”

Student Union Ballroom A

Join us for a fascinating lecture from the Consul General of India as he discusses the history surrounding Indo-American Relations, as well as how to improve those relations.

Friday, Nov. 4: 12-1 p.m.

Consul General Discussion: “Why Study Abroad in Asia/India?”

University Hall 158

As part of a general discussion, the Consul General of India will join us again in discussing the values of studying abroad in Asia/India. A brown bag lunch will be provided.
