Clutter Designs & Cohen's Retreat Announce the New Season of the Perennial Dining Experience

Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Thursday, November 3rd, 2016

Clutter Designs and Cohen’s Retreat have announced their second seasonal Clutter & Co’s Perennial Dining Experience featuring artist Kyle Millsap. The space opened to the public starting October 24th.

This season’s room has been transformed into “A Family Affair” with a fixed menu curated by the chefs at Cohen’s Retreat. This experience is sure to entice all of the senses. The space allows one to immerse themselves into nature and give a sense of what the holidays are about; family. You also get to enjoy a wild escape without leaving the parameters of Savannah.

This season’s theme arose after wall artist and designer Kyle Millsap approached Lynn Rahn and Brooke Thomas of Clutter Designs after seeing the first Perennial Room. Within the first meeting the group realized the creative forces that they had to offer the project.

“I've always been a huge fan of Clutter and the creative duo, Lynn and Brooke, behind all of that interior magic. When I started freelancing full-time I knew I wanted to work with them in some shape," says Millsap. " The Perennial Dining Room at Cohen's Retreat was the perfect opportunity to blend our talents and sensibilities into one space. For it being our first project together I was amazed at how in sync we were from the beginning.”

The mural on the wall depicts a continuation of the dining room with dramatic perspectives and proportions. When viewed from the head of the dining table it appears that the room and table continue on into that scene, where fearsome and friendly taxidermy dine with the dinner party. The three-dimensional elements help break the barrier between the painting and the real world, adding to the disorienting experience.
