The 146-room Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott is now open here. Located at 5801 Abercorn St., the eight-story, urban high-rise with an adjacent eight-story parking deck will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned and managed by North Point Hospitality, a hotel development and management company based in Atlanta.

Located 15 miles from Savannah Hilton Head International Airport, the hotel is within walking distance of a variety of restaurants and shops and is less than four miles from Savannah’s historic district.

“The Savannah midtown market has traditionally performed very well for us so we are delighted to partner with Marriott International, Inc. to construct a new build, select-service Fairfield Inn & Suites in midtown Savannah,” said S. The hotel’s new design includes an updated exterior with a signature tower, a curved porte cochere and a glass entrance. The front desk is angled to allow staff to more easily interact with arriving guests, according to the company.

In the lobby, which has a natural color palette of greens, blues and oranges, there are ample connectivity options, as well as a “connect and print” area that offers both standing and seated internet stations. The lobby’s living area’s focal points include a natural stone hearth, an organic-shaped sofa and lounge chair and local features, as well as the 24/7 Corner Market. Complimentary hot breakfast is served in the breakfast area, which includes the brand’s signature farm table.

Guestrooms include a work area; a curved, mobile desk; an ergonomic chair; task lighting; and electrical outlets. Room decor features organic patterns and fresh colors, blending wood tones with bright pops of color. The new design also places the sleeping area toward the middle of the room with easier access to the bathroom and wardrobe. The living area offers a couch, refrigerator, coffeemaker and microwave.

Additional hotel amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, an exercise room, valet laundry service, complimentary WiFi, as well as fax and copy services.
