Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Thursday, November 3rd, 2016

Local minority and women-owned subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors interested in bidding on the Trident Medical expansion and renovation project are invited to attend a diversity meet and greet on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. at 9330 Medical Plaza Drive, Charleston, S.C., 29406. Team members from JE Dunn Construction, which has been awarded the project, will be on hand to provide additional information and answer questions.

“American small businesses -- 6 million of which are minority-owned -- are a critical component of and major contributor to the strength of local economies. According to the Small Business Administration, small businesses have generated 64 percent of new jobs, and paid 44 percent of the total United States private payroll since 1995,” said Ryan Price, vice president, JE Dunn. “As such, both Trident Medical Center, HCA and JE Dunn Construction are strongly committed to the development and implementation of initiatives which promote the inclusion of local, minority and women-owned businesses.”

The Trident Medical Center project encompasses more than 5,000 square feet of an addition to the Operating Room, 10,000 square feet of major renovation, and 8,000 square feet of minor renovation. Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2017.
