Jenny Gentry Named Ameris Bank Market President for Greater Savannah Area

Ameris Bank Regional President Richard Sturm recently announced that Jenny Gentry has joined Ameris Bank as market president for the Greater Savannah Area. Gentry will oversee all core banking activities throughout Savannah and the surrounding areas including Hinesville, Pooler, Richmond Hill and Rincon.  

In making the announcement Sturm stated, “Jenny is a proven leader in the banking industry and within the Savannah community. We are looking forward to cultivating and expanding our relationships with clients and in the market under Jenny’s leadership and expertise.” 

With over 35 years of experience in the financial industry, Gentry has served in a variety of leadership roles at Wells Fargo, Wachovia and former legacy banks. Prior to joining Ameris Bank, she most recently served as senior vice president and market president of Wells Fargo in Savannah. 

Gentry plays an active role in many community organizations, and has been recognized with various awards for her service and dedication including a commendation by the Georgia House of Representatives for Community Involvement and a Savannah Tech Community Star Award. She currently serves on the board of the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce, as board chair for the United Way of the Coastal Empire, is on the Executive Committee and a board member of Goodwill of the Coastal Empire, and is on the Memorial Health University Foundation board. Gentry currently is on the Executive Committee and Finance Committee for the YMCA of the Coastal Georgia, and was the first female board chair in the organization’s 156 year history. 

Gentry is a graduate of Georgia Southern University where she received a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Business, and is a 2000 graduate of Leadership Savannah.
