Savannah Children’s Museum Health & Wellness Initiative Partners with Whole Foods

Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Monday, November 14th, 2016

On Tuesday, November 15,2016 from 8 am to 9 pm, 5% of sales at Whole Foods Savannah will directly support Savannah Children’s Museum’s Health & Wellness Initiative. The fundraiser will take place at 1815 E Victory Dr. #101 Savannah, GA.

Savannah Children’s Museum Health & Wellness Initiative provides hands-on nutrition education for children and their families. Programs are offered throughout the year, both at the Children’s Museum and as outreach in the community.

The programs include Smart Start Nutrition Workshops, Cooking Matters, a series of nutrition and cooking classes for low-income households in the community, the Mobile Museum Charlie Cart project, an educational mobile kitchen outreach program brought to Chatham County schools and Nutrition Education Outreach Workshops offered in regional school gardens. A majority of these programs reach underserved children and their families in the greater-Savannah community and integrate science, math and art education into nutrition lessons.

Shoppers who spend $200 or more at the Savannah Whole Foods store will receive a promotional pass to Savannah Children's Museum for one adult and one child. You can help make a big difference in our community just by doing your weekly shopping! While you shop, stop by the Children's Museum's info table (2pm-8pm) and learn more about these impactful programs.
