The Professional Continuing Education Department of Savannah Technical College will host an open house featuring its new Introduction to Textile and Design Fabrication course from 5-7:30PM on November 30, 2016 at the Savannah Campus (5717 White Bluff Road, 31405).
 
The 40-hour course prepares participants for entry-level positions within the sewing and textile assembly manufacturing industry. The course features a combination of lecture and hands-on practical training with key topics covering safety, ergonomics, various sewing machines, stitches and finishes, set-up, quality, and more.
 
Upon successful completion of the program, participants will have the opportunity to interview with two leading companies in the industry. Companies involved in the shaping of the program include Goodwill, Blue Force Gear, Coastal Canvas, Satchel, Thunderbolt Marine, Crown Ltd, and Edwards Interiors.
