The heart failure program and clinic within the Heart & Vascular Institute at Memorial University Medical Center earned an Advanced Certification in Heart Failure from The Joint Commission and the American Heart Association. The program, physicians, and caregivers had to undergo a rigorous evaluation and survey process to earn the two-year accreditation.

The heart failure program and clinic at MUMC create individual care plans for heart failure patients and their families. The care plans emphasize education, adherence to lifestyle changes, and extensive follow-up to help people manage their disease and stay healthy and out of the hospital.

“Memorial Health pioneered heart care in our region. We were the site of the region’s first open-heart surgery and we brought the first cardiologist to Savannah. Today, we have the region’s largest cardiology group and some of the most advanced technology to treat heart conditions.
