Ogeechee Riverkeeper recently raised over $1,100 thanks to the Location Gallery Aqua Vista art show.

The Aqua Vista show, a water-inspired exhibit, was on display at Austin Hill Realty in Savannah from July 15 through Sept. 2. “Art of our Natural Surroundings” featured work by local artists including Stacie Jean Albano, Bob Christian, Julia Christian, Lennie Ciliento, Emmy Dudley, Kelley Hagemes, Elena Madden, Scarlett Manning, Robert Morris, Lara Neece, Tiffany O’Brien, Juliana Peloso, Peter E. Roberts, Shelley Smith and Kim Swann.

A portion of all proceeds from purchases of the art were donated to Ogeechee Riverkeeper to promote their mission to protect, preserve and improve the water quality of the Ogeechee River basin.

“We are very thankful to Location Gallery for donating proceeds from this amazing art show to our organization,” Ogeechee Riverkeeper Emily Markesteyn Kurilla said. “The beauty of the Ogeechee River basin is an inspiration to many artists, and it is up to us and the community to continue to protect it now and for future generations.”

Austin Hill Realty’s Location Gallery, which opened about eight months ago, showcases art work from established and up-and-coming local artists while serving as a medium for charitable giving. Fifty percent of all sales go directly to the artist and the rest goes to a charity of the artist's choosing, after expenses are covered, according to gallery director Peter Roberts.
