Savannah Santa Train will take place on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 8 am to 5 pm at Georgia State Railroad Museum, located at 655 Louisville Rd., Savannah, GA. Tickets are now on sale for the annual event that brings the holiday spirit to lowcountry residents every December.

“Savannah Santa Train is the perfect family event to celebrate the holiday season,” said Holly Elliott, Marketing and Public Relations Director at Coastal Heritage Society. “We have many unique crafts and activities that allow visitors to share in the spirit of fun, joyfulness and community giving. Additionally, many of our programs use Georgia educational standards and science principles, so children can learn through play.”

For the eighth annual event, guests can build a holiday wonderland with Snapology, enjoy the seasonal spirit with a cast of characters from Savannah Stage Company and design holiday cards for local child-patients with Savannah Children’s Museum’s “Carts with HeART” program. There will also be opportunities to create festive t-shirts with Maven Makers and interact with arctic animals with Oatland Island.

Other activities for visitors will include learning how to shoulder a musket during Toy Soldiers Training, engaging in STEAM learning to see how a chimney works during Chimney Science, celebrating different cultures during our “Holidays Around the World” station, taking a holiday-themed ride on a steam locomotive and visiting with jolly old St. Nicholas to share a Christmas wish.

In addition to the many workshops and activities, visitors can try a handcrafted slice of pizza from Big Bon Pizza and have a sweet treat for dessert with Savannah’s favorite ice cream parlor, Leopold’s Ice Cream.

Savannah Santa Train guests are invited to do some holiday shopping for unique, fun and educational gifts in our Georgia State Railroad Museum gift shop. On Saturday, December 10^th we are offering 25% off of all merchandise to encourage visitors to browse our new items.

Savannah Santa Train is hosted each year by Georgia State Railroad Museum and Savannah Children's Museum. Activities only tickets are also available for guests not wanting a train ride.
