Kathleen Platt Appointed as Armstrong’s Registrar

Armstrong State University recently appointed Kathy Platt as the institution’s registrar. In this position, Platt oversees the operations of the Office of the Registrar, including curriculum, registration, transcripts and degree completion. She is also responsible for maintaining the academic records of the university.

Platt has more than 12 years of experience in Armstrong’s Office of the Registrar, having served in a variety of roles, including interim registrar during the 2015-16 academic year. During that time, she spearheaded a number of important process improvements, including the implementation of electronic transcripts and upgrades on student information systems. Prior to that, Platt served as assistant registrar and was responsible for organizing university commencement ceremonies and overseeing operational functions of the registrar’s office.

Platt also acted as coordinator of graduate students and residency and as Veterans Affairs coordinator, processing VA and military educational benefits for Armstrong’s military-affiliated students and helping ease veterans’ transition to college.

Platt earned a B.S. in Psychology and a M.Ed. in Adult Education and Community Leadership from Armstrong.
