Memorial Health CEO Maggie Gill Recognized By National Healthcare Publication

Maggie Gill, president and chief executive officer of Memorial Health in Savannah, Georgia, was named by Becker's Hospital Review as one of its 2016 “135 Nonprofit Hospital and Health System CEOs to know.” The annual list, which was published on Wednesday, November 9, includes leaders from some of the nation’s largest and most successful nonprofit healthcare organizations. Gill was also included on Becker’s 2016 list of “130 Women Hospital and Health System Leaders to know,” which published on November 22.

Gill joined Memorial in 2004 as vice president of finance/managed care and was promoted to chief operating officer in 2005. She led many key strategic initiatives including the development of new physician-led Centers of Excellence, expansion of clinical services, and construction of new facilities. In 2006, she assumed additional responsibilities as interim chief financial officer, and she initiated a financial turnaround that yielded $30 million in annualized cost savings. She was named president and CEO of Memorial Health in 2011. Gill is a member of the American Hospital Association Governing Council and was appointed to the Georgia Rural Health Stabilization Committee in 2014. She also serves on the State Medicaid Subcommittee on Medicaid expansion, the Board of Governors for the Mercer University School of Medicine – Savannah Campus, the Board of Trustees of Mercer University, and the Georgia Hospital Association Board of Trustees.
