The Savannah Jaycees announce the Flannel and Frost Holiday Party to be held on Saturday, December 10 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Savannah Jaycees’ Hut, located at 101 Atlas Street.

Guests will enjoy a hot cocoa bar, s’mores station, as well as, dinner and drinks. There will also be live entertainment to include “carol-oke” where everyone is invited to perform their favorite holiday songs.

There is a suggested $10 donation for nonmembers; guests are also encouraged to bring a wish-list item for Park Place Outreach. Collected donations from the event will support Park Place Outreach.

The mission of the Park Place Outreach is to provide services to at-risk youth and their families, increase their functional level, and reunify families whenever possible. Holiday wish list items include plastic gloves, cling-free sheets, trash bags, deodorizing spray, food and snack items, washing powder, cleaning products, paper products, toiletries, books, games, school supplies, office supplies, and kids clothing. “This is the only shelter of its kind in the city of Savannah and Chatham County,” said Cynthia Wright, incoming president of the Savannah Jaycees. “Park Place Outreach encourages youth between the ages of 11 and 17 to come to their house if they are not safe in their home or do not have any place to go. We felt that during the holiday season, this organization is one that the entire Savannah community should rally behind.”

Since opening in 1984, over 6,200 at-risk youth have been served by the organization.

“We usually hold a tacky Christmas sweater party, but we all wanted to do something different this year,” said Wright. “As 2016 comes to a close, we hope to celebrate another successful year and raise a glass to the possibilities for the next one. Our young professional organization has a lot of momentum behind our projects, and we can’t wait to see what 2017 will bring.”
