Good Neighbor Award Nominations Due Thursday, February 16th

Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Friday, January 27th, 2017

The City of Savannah is gearing up for the Spring 2017 Good Neighbor Award in which residents nominate their neighbors for improving the quality of life in their neighborhoods. The Good Neighbor Award recognizes the ongoing efforts of Savannah residents who are making exceptional contributions to their neighborhoods. The program is designed to honor those who make a difference in the community without seeking or receiving recognition for their efforts.

All nominees must:

• Be a resident of the City of Savannah

• Have made significant contributions to their neighborhood or to Savannah

• Have demonstrated their efforts beyond the scope of citizen responsibilities

• Have demonstrated concern for their neighborhood’s well-being or overall quality of life for the City of Savannah

• Not be employed by the City of Savannah

Good Neighbor Award recipients will be recognized by the Savannah City Council and presented with a Good Neighbor Award plaque and a $50 gift card.

The Good Neighbor Award program was launched in 2012 as a way of thanking residents who are committed to preserving, maintaining and improving the quality of life in their neighborhoods and our community. The City strives to support and empower neighborhood associations, as well as facilitate effective communication between the community and City government.
