Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Thursday, January 12th, 2017

The Savannah chapter of the Service Corp of Retired Executives opened a satellite office at Georgia Southern’s Business Innovation Group in Statesboro.

SCORE has been working with Georgia Southern’s Veterans Business Outreach Center to open this chapter. VBOC, SCORE and the Small Business Development Center will all be housed at the University's City Campus in downtown Statesboro.

Both VBOC and SCORE are resource partners of the Small Business Administration and mutually supportive of each other. Jeremy Horstman, director of the VBOC, reached out to his SCORE partners and connected with Gary Johnson, who manages new chapter development for SCORE.

“SCORE opening an office in Statesboro greatly increases the capacity of help and support we can provide to small businesses in Statesboro and the surrounding areas,” said Horstman. “The Business Innovation Group at Georgia Southern is really becoming a one stop shop with the many resources that we have housed in our facility to help small businesses start and grow.”
