165th Aircraft Maintenance Group Welcomes New Commander

Col. Peter M. Boone assumed command of the 165th Aircraft Maintenance Group in a change of command and promotion ceremony held Nov. 5, 2016 at the 165th Airlift Wing in Savannah, Ga.
 
Boone previously served dual roles as the Deputy Commander and Director of Maintenance for the 165th AMX. Boone is charged with the leadership of more than 250 personnel and all equipment involved with the maintenance of the wing’s eight C-130H aircraft. Boone will also serve as the senior military advisor to the wing commander on all matters concerning aircraft maintenance. Boone is a master navigator with more than 1,500 total flight hours in the C-130H aircraft and brings experience as a maintenance officer supporting flight operations.
 
Boone has served in the Georgia and New York Air National Guard and deployed to both Antarctica and Greenland in support of Operation Deep Freeze for the National Science Foundation. In 2012, he was selected as commander of the 165th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron which was followed by his selection to attend National War College in Washington, D.C. in 2014. Boone currently resides in Rincon, Georgia.
