The Local on 17 Ribbon Cutting Ceremony February 9th

Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Wednesday, February 8th, 2017

Please join the Richmond Hill/ Bryan County Chamber of Commerce, Richmond Hill Council members and Mayor Harold Fowler and other special guests for the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of The Local on 17 located at 4040 US Highway 17 to be held on Thursday, February 9 at 11:30am.

A steakhouse has arrived in Richmond Hill.  The Local on 17 has a variety of menu items for everyone: steaks, chops, oysters, and seafood.  The restaurant’s new menu maintains the tradition but it also provides its guests with world class steaks.

The restaurant recently added more steak options for those desiring a unique experience.  A Bison ribeye, a Tomahawk for two, the Filet Trio and Prime NY Strips are among the options on the Local on 17’s new menu.  These hand-cut steaks are on par with the best and paired with an eclectic wine listing.

The Local on 17 was a vision of Jay Yancey, a former Army officer & native of Texas, who fell in love with the Low Country after being stationed at Fort Stewart in 2003.  The result is a menu focusing on fresh and local ingredients such as locally procured GA White Shrimp and the biggest Chicken Fried Steak in the state of Georgia.

In designing the restaurant, Jay wanted to celebrate the history of Richmond Hill and pay tribute to our rich military history, from Sherman’s March to the Ford era and our modern military of coastal Georgia.

The Local on 17 will also open for lunch offering an unlimited soup, salad, cold and hot pastas, and baked potato bar, along with daily lunch specials for $8.99.  The new lunch menu is designed to serve guests in under 20 minutes.

Join the Local on 17 for the Ribbon Cutting on Thursday, February 9th.  Enjoy refreshments, samples of cuts of meat, and enter our free raffle for prizes and complimentary gift cards.
