On Saturday evening of Mother’s Day weekend the Pregnancy Care Center of Richmond Hill hosted its inaugural fundraiser, “City Nights at the City Center,” where local, international award-winning photographer, Megan Myrick, unveiled The Love & Legacy Project.

Around 80 people gathered at the Richmond Hill City Center to help support the Pregnancy Care Center’s mission while enjoying live music by award-winning musician John Russell, delicious city-themed food, and free photo booth fun. Megan Myrick treated guests to an exclusive unveiling of The Love & Legacy Project, a new non-profit initiative which will work in tandem with The Pregnancy Care Center to support mothers and children.

The Pregnancy Care Center’s mission is to provide help and hope to those who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. All services offered by the organization, including accurate and complete information about prenatal development, parenting, and adoption, are free and confidential.

“As we enjoy Mother’s Day weekend it is important to remember our organization is here to care for mothers and their children by providing them with the necessary information, support, and guidance needed during what can be an overwhelming time in a woman’s life,” said Pregnancy Care Center Executive Director Monica Easter. “Our organization would not be able to remain and develop as a place of comfort and aid without the support of our community and we are grateful to have the support of faithful individuals, churches, and organizations here in Richmond Hill and beyond that allow us to meet the needs of those we serve.”

Megan Myrick, a supporter of the Pregnancy Care Center, developed the idea of The Love & Legacy Project after God called to her one ordinary January day. The Love & Legacy Project offers complimentary maternity or newborn sessions to new mothers facing medical or socioeconomic hardship. The organization’s mission is to empower mothers, celebrate the unmistakable bond of motherhood, and to preserve not only a mother’s legacy, but also the legacy of her children. These sessions include the use of a studio’s exclusive wardrobe and props and participants will receive ten fine art heirloom quality prints to preserve the beginning of their child’s story for generations.

“I believe we are not born merely to exist; we are here to celebrate and glorify God, the gifts He has bestowed upon us, and to leave this place a little better than we found it,” said Myrick. “I found a love for photography and followed my passion and now God has chosen me to share this passion through The Love & Legacy Project. My hope is that this organization will not only strengthen the work and mission of our community’s Pregnancy Care Center, but also those of our neighbors in Georgia and eventually across the U.S.”

Throughout the evening exciting raffle prizes, including many gift certificates to great local businesses, were available with all proceeds benefitting the Pregnancy Care Center. The evening’s live auction included a “Weekend at The Westin” package, a “Downtown Getaway” package, $500 in print credit for any full Megan Myrick Photography session, a “Southern Steamer” donated by the Randy Bocook Team, dinner for four at the City Center, a Royal Oak car detail, a Savannah Bananas basket including five tickets to their sold-out season opener, and a Kendra Scott jewelry set.
