The Savannah VOICE Festival has returned to Savannah to present their fifth anniversary season, themed “Funny@Five.” Festival artists are slated to present the annual crowd-favorites, “VOICES Around the World” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24 and “Opera Idol” at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21. “VOICES Around the World” will be held at Christ Church, 28 Bull St. in downtown Savannah and “Opera Idol” will be held at the Charles H. Morris Center, 10 E. Broad St., also in downtown Savannah.   

Attendees are invited travel around the globe with the Savannah VOICE Festival as they provide an evening of international song with “VOICES Around the World.” Festival singers will showcase their versatility while treating audiences to a range of songs in a variety of languages celebrating an array of cultures, focusing on German repertoire. Tickets to this event cost $45 each. This concert is sponsored by the Teutonic Council of Savannah which was founded as a non-profit organization in 2015 to support and raise awareness of Germanic art and culture.

The festival will continue to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to boosting the skills, confidence and progress of young artists by using “Opera Idol” to showcase and promote their rising stars. This exciting showcase of talent features Festival Artists of the Savannah VOICE Festival and these singers will perform in a mock feedback audition for directors of professional opera companies and SVF Directors. The pros will offer insight, but ultimately, it will be the audience who decides a people's choice award which has been sponsored by Barbara Wilson.
