Yoga for Cancer Patients and Survivors
6:30 p.m., Tuesdays, and 12:45 p.m., Thursdays, FitnessOne, 3rd floor of the Memorial Outpatient & Wellness Center, Memorial University Medical Center
These weekly yoga classes are free for cancer survivors and those in treatment. The classes help with flexibility and balance while also providing relaxation. The instructor is Yoga Alliance registered with more than 200 hours of training, including specialized yoga training for cancer survivors at OM Yoga in New York. American Red Cross Blood Drive
2 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, September 5, Blood Donor Room at Memorial University Medical Center
The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive at Memorial University Medical Center from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the blood donor room, located by the Medical Center Pharmacy. The blood drive is open to the public. No appointment is necessary; walk-ins are accepted. Or, you can request an appointment online at redcrossblood.org.

Prepared Childbirth Saturday Session
9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, September 9, Memorial University Medical Center
This full-day course gives an overview of reproductive anatomy and physiology and explains the process of labor and delivery in simple, easy-to-understand terms. It is designed for parents who live outside of Savannah or have schedules that make it difficult to attend weekday classes. This course includes a tour of the labor and delivery unit. Greater Savannah Area Breast Cancer Support Group
4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, September 10, in the lobby of the Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute at Memorial University Medical Center
This meeting is open to breast cancer patients and their caregivers in the greater Savannah, Hilton Head, and Coastal Georgia area. These sessions often include special presentations from the local medical community, are informal, and are conducted in a discussion format to encourage participation by all in attendance. Look Good, Feel Better

This free makeover program, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, is for women going through cancer treatment. The program includes education on skin changes, hair loss, makeup application, wigs, and head covers. Prostate Cancer Support Group: Man to Man

This group is for men who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer and their caregivers. The group provides a variety of educational and support programs. This annual event benefits the Dwaine & Cynthia Willett Children’s Hospital of Savannah. Tee times are 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. with a complimentary lunch before or after you play. 7th Annual Help the Hoo-Hahs 5K Run/Walk
8:30 a.m., Saturday, September 23, Savannah International Trade and Convention Center
The funds raised at this event benefit the Memorial Health Foundation's Gynecological Cancer Fund, which provides assistance to patients at the Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute. The 5K course around Hutchinson Island offers a flat scenic course for walkers and runners of all ages. Jogging strollers and dogs on a leash are welcome. Basic Breastfeeding Class
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday September 26, Memorial University Medical Center
This two-hour session is designed to educate and support the mother planning to breastfeed. Topics include information on preparing to breastfeed, basic breastfeeding concepts, nutrition, and a discussion of common concerns. Issues such as family support for the breastfeeding mother, the father’s role in feeding, and how to breastfeed and continue to work are also covered. Your support person is encouraged to attend.
