Savannah City Manager Rob Hernandez to Share Update with "One City. One Direction. Forward." at SDBA November 8th

From economic development to police protection, the City of Savannah is busily wrapping up 2017 and planning for the future. Savannah City Manager Rob Hernandez will share updates and insights with "One City. One Direction. Forward." at the Savannah Downtown Business Association’s lunch meeting on Wednesday, November 8 at the Charles H. Morris Center at Trustee's Garden, 10 East Broad Street.

The event is open to the public and the deadline to register is Friday, November 3.  Cost is $25 for SDBA members and $40 for non-members. If space permits after the deadline, cost will be $35 for SDBA members and $45 for non-members.

Hernandez is completing his first year as Savannah City Manager. He has more than 20 years' experience in local government management. Prior to coming to Savannah he served as Deputy County Administrator for Broward County, FL. He has also served as Deputy City Manager for the City of Coral Springs, FL; and Deputy County Manager for Fulton County, GA, where he oversaw public safety agencies, unincorporated area services, the Office of the Child Attorney, offender reentry program, and coordinated with the County’s constitutional and judicial agencies. Hernandez previously served Broward County in other roles from 1994 through 2008, including serving as an Assistant to the County Administrator from November 2003 to June 2008.

He has a Masters of Public Administration from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor's of Public Administration from Florida International University. Hernandez has completed the Army Instructor Training Course as well as the Civil Affairs Course at the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center in Fort Bragg, NC; and Essentials of Firefighting at the Broward Fire Academy, Fort Lauderdale, FL. He retired from the U.S. Army Reserves in 2008 after a 23-year career, including his serving as a senior instructor in civil-military operations.
