United Way of the Coastal Empire is now 74 percent of the way to its 2017 fundraising goal, thanks to the generosity of Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation.  With a little less than two weeks left in the campaign, Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation presented a $2 million gift to United Way to be put toward the community goal of $8,251,841.

United Way President and CEO Gregg Schroeder and Campaign Chair Dr. Todd Cellini, assistant vice chancellor for South Campuses and president of South University, Savannah, accepted the check and thanked Gulfstream and thousands of its employees for their continued support and generosity.  “United Way of the Coastal Empire is extremely grateful for the commitment that Gulfstream and its employees demonstrate year after year to help strengthen our community.  Their generous contribution funds programs and services that give children and families the shot at a brighter future,” said Dr. Cellini.

Gulfstream’s generous support will help United Way continue investing in critical programs in Education and Youth Development, Economic Independence, and Health and Wellness. United Way funds more than 100 programs and services at 63 agencies in Bryan, Chatham, Effingham, and Liberty Counties.

Gulfstream’s total contribution to United Way consists of the employee pledges and corporate commitment. Since 1997, the company and its employees have invested nearly $40 million to United Way.

The goal of this year’s United Way fundraising campaign is $8,251,841.  To date, United Way has raised $6,124,792 or 74 percent of goal.  The results will be announced at the Victory Celebration on Thursday, November 16th at 5:30 pm at Grayson Stadium.  The event is open to the public.  Tickets are $50 per person.
