Ameris Bank Announces Thomas Butler as Godley Station Branch Manager

Ameris Bank has named Thomas Butler as branch manager of the Godley Station location.  In this role, Butler will work to facilitate the daily operations of the branch, with a strong focus on expanding consumer portfolios and growing business opportunities.

“Tom is a proven leader in the community and banking industry,” said Greater Savannah Market President Jenny Gentry. “His expertise and experience are a welcome addition to Ameris Bank.”

Prior to joining Ameris Bank, Butler worked as a business relationship manager and commercial loan officer for Wells Fargo Bank and Sea Island Bank Synovus. Butler served as board chairman of the Small Business Assistance Corporation during 2011-2013 and as part of their Board of Directors 2001-2011. He is a current member of the SBAC’s Loan Committee, which he chaired in 2004-2006. He also plays an active role in working with the Community Housing Services Agency and Community Housing Services Agency Development, Inc.

Butler earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in sales and sales management from Georgia Southern University. He and his wife, Lisa, reside on Tybee Island.
