Bryan County Board of Commissioners Chairman Carter Infinger will present to members of the Rotary Club of Richmond Hill at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 1 at the City Center in J.F. Gregory Park.

Infinger’s presentation will touch on the county’s current priorities and plans, including the Comprehensive Land Use Plan, TSPLOST and the usage of impact fees. He also will go into more detail on a few prominent transportation projects, including the Highway 144 widening and the I-95 interchange and Belfast Keller Road.

Infinger was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, and obtained a business degree from Newberry College before moving to the Coastal Georgia area for a job opportunity. He’s lived in the region for 22 years. He was elected chairman of the commission in 2016 and served as the Fourth District County Commissioner for six years before that. Infinger has taken more than 100 hours of training classes through the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia and is a graduate of the Institute of Georgia Environmental Leadership.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to speak with some of the area’s most noteworthy leaders and community pillars. Creating awareness for the county’s work and its commitment to the community is nearly as essential as the services we provide our residents. We’ve really got a lot of exciting things in the works right now, and this is a great chance to talk about our plans and the ways in which they will improve residents’ quality of life,” Infinger said.

Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who come together to make positive, lasting change in communities at home and abroad. The Rotary Club of Richmond Hill gives back to the community throughout the year with initiatives like the Senior Citizens Programs, educational sponsorships such as the J.D. Gardner Scholarship, causes like The Matthew Freeman Foundation and the Presidents Fund, which help local schools. The chapter also focuses on international Rotary initiatives such as Alzheimer’s Research and Polio eradication.
