Savannah’s Nine Line Apparel Gives Back to Parkland Victims

Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Monday, February 26th, 2018

When tragedy hits a community, Nine Line Apparel stands by their motto, “We’ve Got Your Six,” and our team is doing just that to honor the memory of those lost too soon on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL.

“Our company was founded with the mission not just to produce a quality product, but to do our part to give back to the community, especially in times of tragedy,” says CEO and Co-Founder CPT Tyler Merritt. “That’s why when our team heard the news, we instantly thought of the idea for our latest design, ‘Parkland Strong.’ We want to honor the memory of those lost last week in the best way we know how, and support those left behind.”

There were heroes among the 17 victims who were lost so suddenly. 15-year old Peter Wang died in his Junior Reserve Officer Training uniform as he helped classmates get to safety on campus, while 37-year old assistant football coach Aaron Feis, threw himself between the gunman and students, thus saving them and sacrificing himself. 14-year old Alaina Petty was another member of the JROTC program, who had volunteered to help in the cleanup and rebuilding after Hurricane Irma hit Florida in 2017. Then, there was 49-year old Chris Hixon, the school’s athletic director, and a Naval reservist who deployed to Iraq in 2007. Hixon’s wife said he loved being an American, serving his country and instilled that in their children.

“At times like these, we rally. We do what we can to make a difference. It’s not about turning a profit. It’s about doing what’s right and remembering those who are no longer with us. We honor those who have been lost through unique t-shirt designs and then donate all of the profits to those whose lives were changed forever,” adds Merritt.

The ‘Parkland Strong’ design will be on sale on our website, www.ninelineapparel.com, beginning on February 21st. Once the two-week Limited Time Design sale is completed on March 7th, we will go to production and beginning shipping the shirts on March 14th. We are proud to be working in conjunction with Broward Education Foundation to support the victims and families impacted by the senseless violence at Stoneman Douglas High. Broward Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization solely dedicated to supporting teachers and students in Broward County Public Schools. 100% of funds raised will support the victims and families of Stoneman Douglas High.
