T. Sloan Thompson has joined BB&T Scott Stringfellow as Senior Managing Director and Financial Advisor. Mr. Thompson opened BB&T Scott Stringfellow’s second office in the area on September 01, 2017, strengthening the company’s expansion into the Georgia and South Carolina Low Country. Mr. Thompson’s BB&T Scott & Stringfellow office is located in the Live Oak Park complex at 314 Stephenson Avenue, Suite A, 31405.

A veteran financial advisor, Mr. Thompson has 23 years of outstanding industry service.  For the past eight years, Mr. Thompson served as Senior Vice President with Merrill Lynch’s Savannah Wealth Management branch. Mr. Thompson began his career with Wachovia Securities. During his 15 year tenure with the company, Mr. Thompson rose to the position of Senior Vice President. Mr. Thompson was consistently a top producer for both companies. His achievements include being a member of the Wachovia Securities Chairman’s Club, Merrill Lynch President’s Club and Circle of Excellence. He was also named to Evergreen Investments’ Medallion Club, received AXA’s Award of Excellence, Voya’s Outstanding Achievement Award, and received professional recognition awards from Federated Investors, Franklin Templeton, and Pimco Investments.
 
Mr. Thompson is a native of Sumter, South Carolina. He is a graduate of Francis Marion University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science. He currently resides in Bluffton, South Carolina with his wife, Christina, and daughter Amelia.
