American Traditions Vocal Competition Announces 2018 Semifinalists

the American Traditions Vocal Competition announced the talented artists selected by the judges to advance to the Semifinals.

There have been many stunning performances throughout the competition week so far, including appearances by ATC judges Ricky Ian Gordon, Morgan James, and Lynette Hawkins Stephens. Contestants have inspired audiences with a range of music from nine different genres. The ATC recognizes the following genres of American music: Opera, Musical Theatre, Hollywood, Jazz, Folk, Country, Pop/Rock Singer-Songwriters (1980-today), Art Song, Gospel, Songs of Johnny Mercer, Blues, Religious Music, Popular Music of 1950-1980, Great American Songbook, and Cabaret. 

The semifinalists will compete for spots in the finals by singing their next sets of three songs each at 4 and 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22 at SIUMC 54 Diamond Causeway on Skidway Island. The remaining contestants are (in alphabetical order):

“We are thrilled for the talented contestants who have dazzled our judges and audience with stunning performances and made it to the semifinals,” said ATC Artistic Director Mikki Sodergren. “We are in for a real treat with amazing talent as these artists continue to compete in the hopes of becoming the 2018 ATC Gold Medal winner!”
