Bryan County Welcomes New Finance Director

The Bryan County government administration team recently welcomed a new finance director, John Fitzgerald Rauback, who joined the county’s staff on March 1. Prior to accepting this position, Rauback was the assistant executive director of the Savannah Airport Commission from February 2014 to January 2018. Before becoming the assistant executive director, he served as the entity’s director of administration and finance from July 2008 to February 2014.

From 2004 to 2008, Rauback was the CFO for Savannah Air Center, a completion center for Gulfstream & Bombardier Jets, which he helped sell to Jet Aviation/Gulfstream Aerospace in 2008. Before he spent 13 years in the aviation industry, Rauback worked for over 13 years in the consulting, engineering and construction fields for several companies with clients such as BP/Amoco, Texaco, the Florida Department of Transportation and the Environmental Protection Agency.

Rauback earned his Master’s of Business Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from the University of Central Florida. His Associate of Arts degree is from the University of Florida. Rauback is also an Accredited Airport Executive with the American Association of Airport Executives and a Senior Certified Professional with The Society of Human Resources Management.

Rauback and his wife Cindy have been married for more than 25 years and his hobbies are fishing, golf, snorkeling and traveling.

His experience and training have equipped him to lead the finance department into the future, and we congratulate him on this well-deserved appointment."
