City of Pooler Selects Brown as New Chief of Police

After a vetted national search, the City of Pooler announces the selection of Ashley Brown as the new police chief.

Brown will be coming to the City of Pooler Police Department from the Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department, where he held the rank of captain and commander of the Southside precinct. Brown holds 16 SCMPD letters of commendation and multiple police training certifications including law enforcement officer, field training, and leadership in police organizations from the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

“Ashley is a 24 year veteran of the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department. Having served as a former assistant commander of the Savannah-Chatham Downtown Special Operations Unit, undercover vice officer, homicide investigator and former patrol officer, Brown understand all facets of the organization,” said Mayor Mike Lamb, City of Pooler. “We are happy to have him on board and are confident that he will excel as our chief of police.”

Brown was elected to the City of Pooler Council in 2015. He is a graduate of Groves High School and Armstrong State University and is a longtime Pooler resident.
