Greenbriar Children's Center Welcomes New Board Members

Greenbriar Children’s Center recently welcomed four new members to its board of directors. New to the board this year are Linsey McDougal, Sonia Renee Grant, Diann B. Scott and Bernard Conyers.

McDougal is a Savannahian by birth. After completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Georgia, she worked in various roles in real estate and marketing before moving into healthcare administration. After returning to school for her MBA, McDougal decided to get back to her Real Estate roots and is now at Remax Savannah. She also sits on the board of the Caretta Research Project. McDougal is a turtle enthusiast and enjoys spending time on the water with her dog, Louie.

Grant has been employed at Economic Opportunity Authority for Savannah Chatham County, Inc. as a human resources specialist for the past 17 years. She worked at Kemira, Inc. as a chemist for 16 years. She graduated from Savannah State University with bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry. Grant is a lifetime member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, Gamma Sigma Omega Chapter; an associate member of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Savannah Chapter; and is a United Way Community Investment volunteer. She is member and Church Clerk of First Mount Bethel Baptist Church, Inc. Grant and her husband Jack have two children, Jared and Sydney.

Scott is a retired corporate executive of the Kmart Corporation in Troy, Michigan, where she held numerous management and corporate positions before retiring after 30 years of service. She is a graduate of Fort Valley State College (University) with a bachelor’s degree in social welfare with a concentration in psychology. She is a member of St. Philip A.M.E. Church, where she serves as a member of the Trustees Board, the Finance Committee and on other auxiliaries. Scott is a Gold Life member of the NAACP, a member of NCNW, and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Gamma Sigma Omega Chapter of Savannah, Georgia. She is married to Mr. Albert J. Scott.

Conyers is a retired administrator from Savannah State University with his last position being the Director of Auxiliary Services. He served in various other capacities during his tenure at Savannah State, including business office manager and director of housing. Conyers has a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Savannah State University. He is a member of several professional, civic and social organizations, including Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Savannah Evening Optimist Club. He served in the United States Army from January 1963-1966. Conyers is a deacon at Connor’s Temple Baptist Church. He and his wife Emma have three children, Bernard, Joseph and Amy.

McDougal, Grant, Scott and Conyers will join the 15-member board including: President Melissa Emery, Salyon Johnson, Elizabeth Costner, Richard de Wilde, Ann Levett, Randy Houston, Keith Fletcher, Phoenicia Miracle, Juanita Adams, Clemontine F. Washington and Alfred Young.

“I’m confident the 2018-19 Greenbriar Children’s Center Board of Directors is going to take the organization to new heights with the leadership skills and guidance they bring to the table,” new board President Melissa Emery said. “We are very excited that Linsey, Sonia Renee, Diann and Bernard have joined us and we’re eager to get to work, raising awareness and support for this wonderful organization.”
