Rape Crisis Center Power of Pearls Gala to Feature Kym L. Worthy

The Rape Crisis Center is pleased to announce Kym L. Worthy, prosecutor of Wayne County, Michigan and recently featured in Mariska Hargitay’s film documentary, I AM EVIDENCE, for her work in resolving a massive backlog of unprocessed rape kits in Detroit, Michigan, will be the keynote speaker at their Pearls of Power Awards Gala. This annual celebration, the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year honoring over 40 years of service to the community, will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018, at the American Legion (1108 Bull Street). The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with entertainment, cocktails, hors-d'oeuvres, following dinner, a live auction and guest speaker.  

The Rape Crisis Center is a local non-profit program that works to provide resources, advocacy, prevention activity and education to victims of sexual assault and their families. In addition, the organization is also responsible for anti-bullying projects, good touch/bad touch, and bystander intervention programs in local schools and colleges.
